Who We Are
First Baptist Church began in 1868 as Antioch Baptist Church. Though our faces and buildings have changed since those early days, First Baptist's mission to reach the community for Christ has not. We believe the Bible to be our manual, and Christ to be our example.
Each Sunday we worship in Traditional, Contemporary/Blended styles (as well as in a Spanish-language service). We offer varied Bible Study classes designed for all ages and interests. We believe it is important to begin teaching the Bible and showing the love of Christ even to the youngest of our church family -- the Newborns and Preschoolers. We also have vital Children's and Student ministries that teach the Bible in fun, innovative ways, challenging kids to make a lifelong commitment to serving the Lord and reaching out to our community.
On Wednesdays, we offer a variety of activities for all ages as well. We have an Adult Sanctuary Choir, Children's Choirs, Youth Discipleship Training, Fellowship Supper, and Bible Study/Prayer Time for adults.
We're saving a seat for you. Won't you join us?
We encourage every guest and prospective church member to take the following steps as they seek to learn more about our church, its ministries, and opportunities for service. Most people discover the church through the “front door” of our Sunday morning worship services. These are a great way to join others in worship and praise of the Lord Jesus Christ. We also encourage everyone to find one of our small group Bible studies (Sunday School) to learn more about the Bible, find new friends, and enjoy an environment of genuine care, acceptance, and love in the company of others.
Making a decision about a church home for you and your family (if applicable) is an important one. We want to help and support you in this process. When the time comes that you want to learn more about the church beyond what you have discovered through worship and Bible study, we encourage you to attend one of our Dinner With the Pastor meetings. These Sunday night gatherings allow you to meet Pastor Greg in a small group setting, ask questions about the church, and hear more details about the church’s ministries, practices, and beliefs

If you decide to join our fellowship as a member, we encourage another step along the Get Connected path. We ask all of our adult new members to attend the regularly scheduled New Member Orientation.
