Like a nest of baby birds waiting for dinner, young children are hungry to learn! Preschool and Kindergarten Sunday School in The Nest is designed with this in mind.
Our age-grouped classes are led by trained, gifted volunteer teachers who offer age-appropriate learning activities to help each child learn and grow. Our classrooms are set up in learning centers including homeliving, books, blocks, and puzzles that aid in the discovery process. But most importantly, the Bible is the basis for everything we teach in The Nest!
All classes (newborn through kindergarten) are located in The Nest, on the 1st floor of the main church building. Please visit the coordinator's desk in The Nest lobby to receive your child's room assignment.
Worship Care
Birth through PreK
While 10:00 a.m. is the Sunday School hour in The Nest*, preschoolers (birth through PreK) are invited to stay for two hours on Sunday mornings. During the 11:15 service, Worship Care teachers retell the Bible story and and offer fun activities that reinforce the Sunday School lesson. Kindergartners attend Worship with their parents. For example, if you worship at 8:45 then your child attends that service with you.
Interested in becoming a VIP (Volunteer in Preschool)?
VIPs teach in Worship Care once or twice a-month for one hour. Very little preparation time is required and all the material and lessons are in the classrooms when teachers arrive. We ask that volunteers be FBCG Church member for at least six months and submit to a criminal background screening before becoming a VIP. Curriculum
We believe that even our littlest ones can learn! Regular learning experiences are planned and reinforced with songs, Bible thoughts, and age-appropriate learning activities. We are currently using Bible Studies for Life curriculum from Lifeway Publishing.
Each child will receive an age-appropriate take-home page that includes the week's Bible story, Bible verse, and a related activity. Parents can reinforce what was learned at church by reading the story and Bible verse at home during the week.
