Precept Bible Study (2 Corinthians)

Second Corinthians is a book about ministry, various kinds of ministry. But in the midst of ministry, sometimes Christians are burdened beyond strength, despairing of life, having fears within and conflicts without. How do we cope with those things? This book tells us how to be strong in the Lord when accusations and persecutions are directed toward us, how to have confidence in Him and not lose heart, and even how to correct those who are our accusers.

Group Leader: Gay Ritchie

Wednesdays 9:30-11:30 am (starting September 4)  (same content as Tuesday study)

Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life

The freedom to grow in godliness––to express Christ's character through your own personality––is in large part dependent on a deliberate cultivation of the spiritual disciplines found in God's Word. Far from being legalistic, restrictive, or binding, as they are often perceived, the spiritual disciplines are actually the means to unparalleled spiritual liberty. So if you'd like to embark on a lifelong quest for godliness, this study will help you on your way. You will cover a carefully selected array of disciplines including Scripture reading, prayer, worship, Scripture meditation, evangelism, serving, stewardship of time and money, Scripture application, fasting, silence and solitude, journaling, and learning.

Praying at the Crossroads  (starting August 25)

In this 12-session Bible study, we will learn that the ancient prayers of Old Testament saints have much to teach us in our present circumstances, whether at a crossroads or on our daily path. Each week’s study features both group and individual prayer guides so that participants can grow in their ability to pray. Together we will learn to call on God not only at crossroads but also in our daily lives.

Everyday Theology

Theology is not just for Sundays, and it's not just for professional theologians. This class teaches all Christians how to get the theological lay of the land. It enables them to become more conscious of the culture they inhabit every day so that they can understand how it affects them and how they can affect it. If theology is the ministry of the Word to the world, everyday theologians need to know something about that world so they can make an impact on it.
