Pinnacle Curriculum

Each MDO class uses the Pinnacle Curriculum.  The Pinnacle Curriculum is a faith-based early childhood curriculum written by a team of 31 early childhood experts designed to engage children in developmentally appropriate activities. The program provides hands-on, center-based activities that promote the development of emerging skills.

MDO Classes

Nursery: The infants are loved and nurtured through activities that break up the "Radical Routines" of eating and changing. Weekly formats are chosen to stimulate growth and development for the infants through play and music each day.

Toddlers: Children are introduced to the Alphabet, Numbers 1-10, Colors and Shapes. Bible stories and verses are shared throughout the day. Fine motor skills will be used in sorting and stacking in the class. The children will use big motor skills when playing outside or in the playroom.

Two's: Children continue to learn about the Alphabet, Numbers 1-10, Colors and Shapes. They begin coloring, and learning how to hold and use scissors. At circle time, the children will be introduced to the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, and the seasons). Bible stories and verses are shared throughout the day. Recognizing names will begin to take place and more fine and gross motor sills will be introduced. Learning is encouraged through play, craft, songs, and movement.

Three's: Children will begin tracing letters of the alphabet, and learning the letter sounds and writing numbers 1-20. Bible stories and verses are continued throughout the day. Calendar concepts (days, months, special holidays, seasons, and weather) will also be taught daily. Color and shapes will continue to be taught. Fine and gross motor skills will be increased and challenged each day. The children will attend Chapel each Monday. Music class is available on Monday and Friday of each week.
